TNY 2009 ... Could have been better

Huh, was a busy start... never found time to write this.. and finally, here we go.

Event started with a beautiful dance by kids and moved on to display local japanese talents.. japanese dancers in bharathnatiyam costumes with sakura (flowers) dancing the traditional way.. was fun to watch. More dances by the kids followed and there was the most expected 'Kondaiyil thazhampoo' song in which a kid tried giving a rose to Kushboo (Later towards the end, Sundar C asked him how did he dare doing that in front of him and the kid responded saying 'Paiyan Thaana' (am a guy !!). That was cool..Program was presented by the same person who did it last year. Every introduction was a drag and none from the audiance liked it. At one point they kept clapping while the presenter was about to get into another detailed intro. Thanks to Bosskey for taking it over. Special ones were Chinmayi's numbers Mayya Mayya and Oru Dheivam thandha poove & Krish's numbers June ponal.. Shriram (SPB look alike) was a complete waste of time. I wasn't there for the Pongal function but the ones who were there kept saying Bosskey was a repeat. Hari-Giri with Kushboo was OK !! A few minutes of Sundar C on stage was fun. It could have been better with him on stage for a longer time.  Then came the 'Ooru banega Aazhuku Paadhi' - an absolute waste of time from Bosskey and his team. We could have had more dances or some more songs. Bosskey said that part is the climax of his latest stage drama...We were left to wonder how this drama was ever staged. Overall, the fun part was left to the audiance to create for themselves. I was on top of my voice and noise all throughout the program and so I enjoyed my best. The final round of taking pictures with the celebs, was like the musical chair contest. Some how, I managed to take pics with everyone. Organizing an event of this proportion in Tokyo is not simple, SRM has done a good work. But next time it would be better if SRM demands 100% unadulterated fun for the audiance from the Celebs if we have to pay to get in !! Cheers

Tamil New Year 2009 in Tokyo

Tamil New Year... Jan 14th or Apr 14th... the confusion is still on. In the meantime, Indians in Tokyo are getting to gether to celebrate Tamil New Year on the 4thApril (tomorrow). Last year's program was a blast (I was screaming the whole time) and so I expect this time to be even better. Chinmayi, Bosskey (mottai & team) and a few others like Kushboo and Sundar C (I wish Kushboo doesn't do the Villu number on stage... please don't..please ... please) have been invited this time..expecting loads of fun.. I would like to personally welcome them all to Japan.. Wish next time we have some time for audiance performance as well.. Was watching the promotional video about this year's event in youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_isf0e-XEy0)  and OMG I hear people singing the old numbers.. I wish Chinmayi, Krish and others blast out with new numbers and WE NEED BEATS TO BREAK THE FLOOR !!!

On Air... with AahaaFM

For the first time, I got my line through....I have tried calling many live TV & FM programs, but never got my line through. Finally, last Saturday I called up AahaaFM and got my line through. Unfortunate enough, they said they give preference to ladies since the program has been named 'Namma Ooru Angels' !! Hosted by Sharmila.. she just keeps talking and laughing. Anyway, since it was a Ladies special and I already had my line through I passed on the phone to my wife and she had her time on air. Just minutes before she mentioned 'what kind of people will waste their time calling programs like these'.. and now she was on air already.. thanks to me. hehe.. anyway, it is certainly a day to remember.. cheers
